Fire Disaster Appeal: The Carpenter’s Arms

On the morning of Saturday, March 30th, 2024, The Carpenter’s Arms, a drug and alcohol residential recovery center, experienced a devastating fire at its Six Hills property along the A46 between Loughborough and Melton Mowbray.

Miraculously, none of the staff or residents were injured, thanks to the incredible efforts of Leicestershire Fire and Rescue Services in swiftly bringing the fire under control.

The photo accompanying this post depicts residents in happier times juxtaposed with the devastation wrought by the fire, particularly in the kitchen. Unfortunately, extensive smoke damage has also affected the dining room, gym, new reception area, and various first-floor pastoral, administration, and management offices—areas painstakingly refurbished by staff and residents over the past three years.

Despite the heartbreak, temporary measures have been implemented to prevent site closure and accommodate residents onsite while reconstruction takes place. Ensuring the continuity of vital elements of the recovery program, such as communal cooking, eating, and physical fitness activities, is the immediate priority.

But why is Flamethrow involved?

As an organization driven by the mission of 'Building a safer world by empowering individuals to unlock their potential...', we're passionate about supporting those who help others. This campaign is our way of giving back and assisting The Carpenter's Arms in getting back on its feet while promoting safety.

The centrepiece of our efforts is the XR Pro 1, a ground-breaking fire-extinguishing kitchen apron with a small "Emblem" to remind wearers of their contribution. Our goal is to sell 5,000 pieces of this limited edition to fully meet The Carpenter's Arms' fundraising needs, with any extra proceeds delivered by the end of 2024.

This apron is being sold as a limited edition to help raise funds needed to rebuild after the kitchen fire at The Carpenter's Arms Rehab Facility.

Why are we doing this?

The main purpose is to generate funds, as the profit from the sale of these aprons will be donated to The Carpenter's Arms to help refurbish the fire-damaged part of the building.

Additionally, we're helping this cause because it aligns with our mission to eliminate injuries and fatalities and mitigate property damage from accidental fires—particularly kitchen fires, which are the most common.

As we raise money for this cause, we not only make people safer but also help The Carpenter's Arms continue its work of making a difference.
